We don’t build over problems; we solve them first. Site prep means clearing and grading, improving soil where needed, and setting up proper drainage before any hardscape or planting starts. This part isn’t glamorous, but it’s the most important. Other contractors might cut corners here. We don’t.

Hardscape Construction

We begin with the structural elements of the project, including retaining walls, patios, walkways, and other hardscape features. Every installation follows proven construction methods, with proper base preparation, compaction, grading, and drainage. Retaining walls are built to meet engineering requirements, and boulders are carefully placed to create a timeless, natural look that feels as though it has been part of the Black Hills landscape for generations.

Irrigation & Lighting

Irrigation and lighting systems are installed before planting so your new landscape can be watered immediately and all underground components are properly protected. Every irrigation zone is tested before final installation. Once planting is complete, we install and adjust the lighting fixtures to highlight key features and complete the landscape.

Softscape & Planting

After the hardscape, irrigation, drainage, and underground systems are complete, we move into the finishing stages of the project. Trees, shrubs, perennials, and ornamental grasses are installed according to the approved design, at the proper depth and with the appropriate soil preparation. Cleanup & Walkthrough

Softscaping covers everything living, like trees, shrubs, ornamental plants, ground covers, and grass. A great landscape blends both. Hardscape shapes your outdoor space and makes it functional and lasting, while softscape adds color, texture, and personality. How long does a landscape installation take?

Small projects such as patios or planting beds may take only a few days. Larger outdoor living projects typically take two to four weeks or more, depending on complexity.

We provide a project timeline before construction begins and keep you informed throughout the process.

Will my yard be a mess during installation?

Some disruption is unavoidable during excavation and installation. We use heavy equipment and material deliveries as needed.

We maintain a clean and organized job site, manage daily cleanup, and complete final grading and cleanup before project completion.

Do you pull permits for installation projects?

Yes. When permits are required for retaining walls, irrigation systems, lighting, gas lines, or structural features, we handle the process as part of the project.

How do you handle weather delays?

Weather, soil conditions, and seasonal factors can impact scheduling. We adjust timelines as needed to maintain quality and safety. Any changes are communicated clearly so you know what to expect.

Do you offer maintenance services?

We do not currently provide ongoing maintenance services such as seasonal irrigation startup, winterization contracts, or routine landscape care programs. We’ll get there.

However, we do provide repair, troubleshooting, and upgrade services for systems or landscapes we install, as well as existing systems when needed.

Do you provide warranties?

Yes. We provide workmanship warranties on installed construction, and plant materials are covered by nursery or grower warranties at the time of installation.

Plant material is typically warranted for a short establishment period against installation-related failure or disease. Coverage does not include damage from weather, watering practices, animals, neglect, or site conditions outside of our control.

How do I care for my landscape after installation?

We won’t just finish the project and leave. Before we go, we walk through the completed space with you and explain what your landscape needs to grow and stay healthy. This includes watering schedules for new plants and sod, irrigation controller settings, seasonal care tips, and what to look out for in the first few months.
